‘’Galatopita’’ Traditional Salty Custard Pie with Milk OLYMPOS

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 kg flour
  • 3 tbsp. of oil
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. vinegar
  • 1 tea cup of water

METHOD

FOR THE DOUGH

  1. Mix flour, oil, salt and vinegar in a bowl.
  2. Add a little water and knead to make a homogenized mixture.
  3. Then divide the dough into balls of about 100 gr. and let them rest.
  4. Then roll out a pastry sheet with dough, place it on the baking pan and cook for 10 minutes at 180° C.
  5. Then open two more pastry sheets of the same size.
  6. Apply melted butter on one pastry sheet and place the second, pastry remaining pastry sheets and place them one on top of the other in the other pan.
  7. Once they are firmly attached to the edges, take the toasted pastry sheet, cut it into pieces and spread it over the entire surface of the pan.
  8. For the cream Put 2 liters of milk in a pot. In a separate bowl, mix 4 eggs, whip them and add them into the milk. Mix well and then pour a cup of oil.
  9. Pour the milk gradually in order to spread and bake in the oven for half an hour at 180° C.
  10. After removing from the oven, let it cool, cut into square pieces and serve!
